GIS Applications Specialist

Summary

The job description is for a GIS Applications Specialist at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). In this role, you will create and deploy the USGS PISA application, contribute to the PTS Product Tracking System, and work in an Agile development environment. This remote position offers a salary of $60K-65K.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related area
• 4-6 years of experience in software development or a related field
• Demonstrated Technical proficiency with Python, Django, PostGIS, AWS
• Experience with React.JS
• Knowledge of Data handling, related industry standard applications

Responsibilities

• Create and deploy the USGS PISA application
• Contribute to the PTS Product Tracking System
• Design and implement innovative software applications
• Develop and test complex systems to meet user needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of publishing services
• Building and running complex queries
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Terraform
