Summary

Join Hootsuite as a Payroll Specialist and contribute to accurate and timely payroll processing for our international employees. This contract position, running from April 2025 to December 2025, offers a flexible work arrangement with remote or hybrid options for eligible locations. You will be responsible for full-cycle international payroll processing, employee inquiries, reconciliation, auditing, and year-end filings. The role requires experience in international payroll, relevant certifications, and proficiency in specific software. Hootsuite values a collaborative and customer-focused approach. This is a contract position with a specified pay range.

Requirements

  • Have relevant experience with full-cycle international payroll processing
  • Possess Canadian Payroll Association PCP certification, or be working towards it
  • Have a diploma or a degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have experience with Workday, including the payroll processing module and ADP Streamline
  • Collaborate and work as part of a team to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
  • Demonstrate a desire to proactively help and serve internal/external customers to meet their needs
  • Consistently achieve results, demonstrating high performance, and challenging self and others to deliver results
  • Clearly convey thoughts, both written and verbally, listening attentively and asking questions for clarification and understanding

Responsibilities

  • Perform full cycle international payroll processing, including monthly and semi-monthly payroll for international employees in the US and EMEA countries
  • Support international employees with payroll inquiries in a friendly and timely manner
  • Reconcile and prepare all monthly international payroll journal entries for the finance team, including verifying variable input totals
  • Audit all international new hire payroll documents to ensure the information is complete and accurate for payroll processing
  • Prepare and review employee/employer year-end payroll forms/filings for the international payrolls
  • Prepare termination payments for employees in a timely and accurate manner, including vacation calculation payout for international payrolls
