Summary

Join Bird, a company committed to environmentally friendly transportation, as a Government Partnerships Associate in Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, or Milwaukee. Lead efforts to grow Bird's presence and partnerships within communities, collaborating with city staff, elected officials, and stakeholders. Develop and implement community engagement strategies, build relationships, and organize outreach events. Support the creation of regulations promoting responsible micromobility growth and work with operations partners to ensure responsive and responsible service. Programmatic reporting and data-driven approaches are crucial for continuous improvement. This role requires significant travel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years progressive experience in government relations, transportation advocacy, sustainability, or community organizing
  • Ability to build, and/or strengthen relationships with key community stakeholders including city officials
  • Strong project management and organization, with a data-driven approach to solving problems
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally to ensure that Bird fulfills all obligations required by the cities and ensure that the company remains responsive to local concerns as they emerge
  • Ability to build close relationships with Birdโ€™s local General Manager(s) and local operations teams to identify, evaluate and prioritize opportunities to improve policy
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Applicants must be authorized to work without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of comprehensive community engagement strategy
  • Build strong relationships with city staff and local stakeholders to identify common ground and advance Birdโ€™s policy goals
  • Organize and attend community meetings and outreach events
  • Support the development of win-win regulations that drive responsible growth of micromobility as a key modeshift tool for cities
  • Work closely with operations partners to ensure Birdโ€™s service is at all times both responsive and responsible to the communities we serve
  • Own programmatic reporting and evaluation to ensure compliance as well
  • Data-driven approach to the continuous improvement and growth of Birdโ€™s micromobility service
