Join PetLab Co., the world’s fastest-growing pet supplement business, as a Graduate Analytics Engineer. Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, you will bridge the gap between analysts and engineers, building intuitive data models for our data warehouse. You will collaborate with the data team, gather requirements, design data pipelines, and provide insights to stakeholders. This role offers a chance to develop critical datasets, maintain data quality, and contribute to data-driven decision-making. The position is fully remote in the UK, with occasional in-person team meetings. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter to gain valuable experience and grow their career in analytics.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of SQL – this is essential
- The ability to use at least one programming language (preferably Python) for data manipulation and cloud engineering purposes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
- A basic understanding of SQL database systems, Kimball data modelling, and ELT processes
- A basic understanding of cloud computing concepts
- An understanding of APIs
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the analytics team to gather and understand business requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to support data analytics initiatives
- Ensure data quality and accuracy by implementing tests, alerts and validation processes
- Develop, update and maintain data models based on changing business needs
- Assist Analysts with the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations for stakeholders
- Respond and debug data pipeline failures
- Write and maintain technical documentation for the data assets you produce
- Constantly seek to improve the data we provide to the wider company
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data analytics to suggest improvements in the way we work
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques
- Exposure to version control systems (Git)
- An understanding of CI/CD practices
- Familiarity with a data visualisation tool (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Cloud computing certification
