Requirements
- A strong academic background and demonstrable interest in law - legal education can demonstrate this, but we accept applications from students with any educational background with some exposure and keen interest in law (through work experience etc.)
- Strong Communication: Clear written and verbal communication with clients and legal teams
- Client Service : Empathetic, professional, and responsive to client needs
- Organised & Detail-Oriented : Able to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate records
- Tech-Savvy : Comfortable with legal software, document management tools, and virtual communication
- Right to work in the UK: You must have right to work in the UK until at least October 2026 . If you are a migrant and are still in education, you must either be on a Graduate visa or have applied for your Graduate visa prior to starting at Avantia
- This is an entry-level position and is not aimed at candidates who are already experienced/qualified legal professionals (e.g. trained and qualified in another jurisdiction). We of course still welcome applicants who have worked as Paralegals/ Legal Support staff previously or have obtained their own qualifications (e.g. SQE) but haven't yet practiced as a Lawyer/Solicitor
Responsibilities
- Prepare initial drafts of documents (transfer agreement, consent, subscription agreement)
- Liaise with transfer parties on process and timings
- Review comments on transfer agreement and subscription agreements
- Assist with running the execution process and general workflow management
- Scan counterparty documents, look for red flags and note any politically exposed persons
- Examine the corporate structures of counterparties, identify UBOs, and outline potential risks in legal memos
- Work with documents such as non-disclosure agreements, non-reliance letters, and engagement letters
- Track documents throughout their life cycle
- Draft first markups
- Communicate with counterparties
- Manage inboxes
