Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or related field (paralegal certificate preferred)
- 3+ years of experience as a paralegal or in a similar legal support role
- Strong working knowledge of legal documentation, terminology, and contract structures
- Skilled in Google Docs, Microsoft Word (especially redlining/tracked changes), and e-signature platforms
- Experience with knowledge base tools (e.g., Confluence) and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage sensitive/confidential materials with integrity and accuracy
Responsibilities
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance Research, track, and monitor legislation and legal issues that impact PayJunction's operations
- Draft, update, and review agreements, documents, and procedures to ensure compliance
- Prepare legal responses for internal and external audits, subpoenas, and litigation-related matters
- Contract Management Review, revise, and organize legal contracts, correspondence, and related documentation
- Ensure contracts are consistent with internal templates and compliant with legal/regulatory standards
- Use e-signature tools (e.g., DocuSign) for contract execution and maintain accurate filing systems
- Card Brand Compliance Serve as a subject matter expert on Visa, MasterCard, and other card network rules and reporting
- Respond to merchant compliance violations and coordinate remediation with internal stakeholders
- Prepare reports and gap analyses based on changes in card brand rules
- Act as the liaison to sponsor banks, processors, and card networks
- Process Optimization and Cross-Functional Support Maintain accurate databases of legal and card compliance materials
- Coordinate with Finance and Deal Desk on initiatives such as vendor management and pricing updates
- Lead or support legal and compliance components of strategic projects (e.g., BIN sponsorship diligence)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or familiarity with card brand compliance (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) and the payments industry is preferred
