Graduate Research Assistant

Join the Council on Criminal Justice as a Graduate Research Assistant and contribute to impactful research and policy initiatives. Requirements

• Current enrollment in a graduate program (public policy, criminology, sociology, social work, data science, or related field required); enrollment in a doctoral program preferred. The degree completion date must be in December 2025 or later
• Familiarity with criminal justice data sources and concepts
• Experience with basic quantitative analysis; familiarity with Excel and Stata is essential, Tableau a plus
• Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to synthesize literature quickly
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
• Graduate Research Assistants must be located in and eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Assist with data updates for CCJ’s descriptive data products
• Support the research team with data and research-related tasks, as needed
