Hardware Support & Test Intern

Summary

Join Eight Sleep's hardware engineering team as an intern to troubleshoot field units and support testing of prototypes. This role requires being on-site in our San Francisco office for 10 weeks.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and software systems to understand possible causes of failures
• Proficiency with 3D modeling (eg. Solidworks, ProEngineer, etc.). Bonus points for simulation experience
• Familiarity with root cause analysis, DOE, and quality measuring techniques
• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot issues seen in the field by customers by analyzing data from units, talk to customers as needed to understand failures, and work with the engineering team to determine root causes and corrective actions
• Support prototyping using in-house and external vendors for things like 3D printing, laser cutting, and machining
• Perform various testing on prototypes to ensure designs meet product goals, including thermal and reliability testing
