Requirements

  • A Senior-level Production Engineer with 5+ years of experience
  • Production of electro-mechanical products is preferred
  • Willing to be based at our main production facility to facilitate real-time oversight of production, and travel as required to other locations around Asia. Travel is estimated at 15-20% of your time
  • Previous experience analysing production data and utilising statistical process control methods
  • Confident in implementing production quality standards and manufacturing best practices, for example: ISO, IPC standards, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly reliable assembly processes and test systems for high-volume electro-mechanical products
  • Experience with a broad range of production processes including electronics assembly (SMT, thru-hole soldering), final assembly, production data & test frameworks (Hardware Testing Framework on Python), and production reliability testing (burn-in tests, Highly Accelerated Stress Screening)
  • Experience with mechanical parts manufacturing (injection moulding) is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly responding to an issue in production by taking a first principles approach, developing a recommended plan of attack and putting it into action with internal team members and support staff at the CM
  • Making changes to a test system to improve gauge repeatability and reproducibility
  • Prioritising factory activities through systematic reviews of yield, statistical process control data and test system performance
  • Auditing supplier production processes to highlight and resolve areas of risk
  • Delivering feedback to a supplier on areas of improvement and following up with on-site visits to see improvements in action
  • Planning and implementing line improvements to unblock capacity in rate-limiting processes
  • Tracking cycle times and assisting in manufacturing cost negotiations
  • Working with the team at the CM to find ways to minimise wasted actions on the line through optimising movements, station layout, or automation
