Head of Cash & Collections

Summary

Finance in a Box is seeking an experienced Head of Cash and Collections to lead the collections team, develop strategies to improve cash flow, and ensure timely collection of accounts receivable. The position is remote and requires working during US PST shift (8 pm-5 am, IST).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
• 7+ years of experience in collections, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Proven track record of success in collections within the trucking, logistics, or intermodal drayage industry
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and best practices
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Superior communication and negotiation abilities
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with collections management systems preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the collections team, fostering a high-performance culture
• Develop and implement effective collections strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce overdue receivables
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the collections team, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
• Conduct regular reviews of accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collection efforts
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to facilitate timely payments and resolve disputes
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in collections and accounts receivable management
• Prepare regular reports on collections performance, highlighting trends and areas for improvement
• Collaborate with the sales, customer service, and operations teams to address billing issues and improve client satisfaction
