Summary

ChainSafe is a global remote team specializing in blockchain research and development. They are seeking a senior engineering manager with strong technical knowledge of blockchain protocols and a passion for Web3 ecosystems to lead their protocol teams and provide technical leadership. The manager will be responsible for managing and mentoring teams, providing technical guidance, driving quarterly goals, and communicating with stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of team management capabilities
• At least 2 years experience in web3 and a deep technical understanding of web3 technologies and at least one ecosystem (e.g. Ethereum, Polkadot…)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• People manager with a servant leader mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to navigate ambiguity through cross-functional collaboration and strategic decision-making
• Intermediate proficiency in Go, Rust, or TypeScript

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead protocol teams, including mentoring, hiring and building best practices
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on architecture and development methodologies
• Drive the quarterly goals and strategic planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Encourage a healthy work environment where everyone feels respected, empowered and has sufficient time to enjoy life
• Establish and maintain trusted relationships with clients, partners and community across the ecosystems
• Proactively researching the market and industry, sharing relevant insights with the teams and evaluating other opportunities for the protocol program
