Requirements

  • Proven experience in data engineering roles, with a strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, and ETL processes
  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, Apache Spark, Hadoop, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience building and managing high-performing data engineering teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of delivering data engineering solutions that meet business requirements and drive measurable impact
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the data and product teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data requirements
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from various sources
  • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data pipeline by implementing robust data validation and monitoring processes
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Work closely with stakeholders to prioritise and execute data engineering initiatives that drive business value
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and analytics, and assess their potential impact on our data strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data infrastructure and drive innovation in data engineering practices
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data engineering best practices and contribute to the development of data governance policies and standards
