In this role, you will lead FP&A, capital markets, treasury, and accounting, driving business outcomes and scaling product lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders, ensuring proper structuring and scaling of products, partners, and the overall business. Reporting to the CEO, you will secure necessary resources for Mesa's growth. Responsibilities include developing financial models, preparing financial reports, analyzing trends, partnering with cross-functional teams, and participating in strategic planning. The ideal candidate possesses a strong financial background, extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, and proven success in capital markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 7-10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with experience in the financial services industry
- Must have experience owning and executing a capital markets function
- Experience with debt facilities
- Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel
- Strong understanding of P&L management, financial metrics, and key performance indicators
- Strong emotional intelligence (able to manage yourself and others)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software
- Must love dogs
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability of the product lines and overall business
- Prepare regular financial reports to track the performance of the business lines and lead Monthly and Quarterly Finance Reviews
- Analyze trends, identify any variances or areas of improvement, and present findings to senior management to support decision-making
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and optimize portfolio performance. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business objectives
- Participate in strategic planning activities related to the business. Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis to assess potential impacts on financial performance and recommend appropriate actions
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Experience in the lending, loyalty, or credit card industry is a plus
