Join Acadia Pharmaceuticals as the Head of France and play a pivotal role in establishing the company's presence and launching its rare disease drug in the French market. Reporting to the SVP, GM of Europe, you will oversee all aspects of French operations and drive commercial success. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, market entry strategy development, cross-functional team leadership, stakeholder engagement, team management, financial management, and ensuring compliance. This leadership role requires an advanced degree, extensive pharmaceutical experience, and proven success in launching products in the French market, particularly within rare diseases. The position offers the opportunity to lead and grow a team while contributing significantly to Acadia's expansion in a key European market.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a Life Science, pharma, biotech, Business Administration or other related area
- Targeting 15 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing commercial operations in France
- Fluent in English and local languages
- Proven track record of successfully launching and commercializing pharmaceutical products in the French market, preferably in the rare disease or specialty pharmaceutical space
- Strong understanding of the French healthcare system, regulatory requirements, pharmaceutical promotional regulations and market access pathways
- Successfully launched products with an established track record in small and large organizations
- Experience in rare disease including pediatric neurology and/or psychiatry
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative market strategies to drive commercial success in France
- Willingness to travel within country and throughout Europe, including Europe HQ. Ability to travel US headquarters as needed
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for launching and commercializing the rare disease drug in France, and other territories as assigned, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives, global brand strategy, allocated resources and market dynamics
- Identify target segments within the French market and develop comprehensive market entry strategies, considering regulatory requirements, reimbursement landscape, competitive landscape, and patient access pathways. Develop market access strategy with the support of Global and Regional Market Access as well as local market access vendor. Successfully drive access and reimbursement
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain to execute launch plans effectively and achieve business objectives
- Build and maintain strong external networks and relationships with key stakeholders including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, regulatory agencies, and payers in France to drive awareness, education, and access to the rare disease drug. In alignment with the Government Affairs and Market Access, report on relevant developments in health policy initiatives in France and design & implement relevant stakeholder engagement/initiatives plan
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of professionals to support the French operations, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure team success
- Develop and manage the country P&L inclusive of budgets, forecasts, and financial targets for the French operations, ensuring optimal allocation of approved resources and delivering on financial goals
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in France, maintaining the highest standards of ethics and integrity in all business activities
