Join Midnite, a next-generation betting platform, as their commercially-minded legal professional. This foundational legal role requires end-to-end ownership of all legal matters, from commercial contracts and risk management to regulatory awareness and entity support. You will act as the central point of contact for legal queries and coordinate with specialist law firms. Over time, you will shape the legal function and help scale it internationally. The ideal candidate is a trained barrister or solicitor with experience in commercial law, regulatory landscapes, and ideally, within a high-growth or regulated industry. Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts (partnerships, vendors, licensing, etc.)
- Advise internal teams on legal risks and provide clear, pragmatic guidance
- Standardise and improve contract templates for speed and consistency
- Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across the business
- Partner closely with the Compliance team where work overlaps (e.g. new markets, audits, internal policies)
- Help operational teams make confident, risk-aware decisions
- Support on corporate matters, including new entity setup and governance
- Assist with cap table changes, share option schemes, and board reporting
- Play a key role in legal work related to fundraising, M&A, or cross-border structuring
- Be the primary liaison for all outsourced legal work
- Work with specialist firms (e.g. regulatory, employment, IP)
- Scope, brief and manage external projects to ensure quality and efficiency
- Build scalable legal processes and documentation (e.g. playbooks, guidance notes, FAQs)
- Educate internal teams on key legal considerations
- Set the long-term legal strategy and help shape how the function grows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a regulated or fast-scaling tech business
- Exposure to international legal frameworks (especially US or EU)
- Prior involvement in equity fundraising or board support
- Understanding of gaming, fintech, or consumer digital sectors
