Responsibilities
- Setting product strategy to drive growth, compliance, market leading solutions, and operational excellence
- Responsible for setting organizational structure to optimize performance, set culture, and talent management, for both current team members and to attract new employees
- Establishing financial and other key performance goals and objectives for across the Product organization for all markets individually and collectively, then coordinating and reporting on performance against these goals and objectives
- Coaching product team members to ensure efforts with other departments within the organization to ensure that our products and services meet customer needs
- External expert for industry events, webinars, strategic broker and other partnership opportunities, and other leadership functions that help grow ShelterPoint’s brand in both existing and new markets
- Working closely with Actuarial, Compliance and all other departments to assure optimal financial and operational performance is achieved
- Facilitating high quality enterprise decision making by prioritizing product related issues, gathering required information (competitive, operational and other), proposing solutions and documenting decisions and driving implementation
- Creating frameworks to evaluate opportunities and applying them to existing products and markets, as well as new products and new markets
- Coordinates all aspects of product development or enhancements, analysis and recommendations to the Executive Management Committee (EMC)
- Is the Business Leader on any product related EPO project
- Focuses on financial performance (revenue, expenses and profit) of their respective product lines with an emphasis on setting plans, achieving targets and actively coordinating efforts to mitigate shortfalls
- Is the “Go To” leader in the organization on all aspects of product including competition, plan design, underwriting practices, regulatory compliance and plan administration
- Coaches team to analyzes market conditions to define features or function of a product
- Will have 5 direct reports who own the tactical aspects of each market he or she is responsible for
- Overseas team to ensure all resources necessary and works with all applicable departments within the organization to ensure product success
- Business leader that manages team responsible for the entire lifecycle of a product from design through assessment, implementation, launch and maintenance with continual focus on defining a product as fitting into one of three categories (“Invest to Grow”, “Harvest” or “Exit”)
- Ensures team produces products that continually deliver unique benefits and value to the customer
- Develop business cases backed by data and then implement company-wide go-to-market plans, working with all departments to execute
- Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities

- Be an expert with respect to the competition
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Finance to assure financial goals (revenue, sales, expense, profit), are achieved
- Lead team that works with Marketing to develop sales tools and collateral material
- Propose an overall budget to ensure success
- Set timeframes and deliverables for product team members to these team members can train internal staff on any new products and features
- Serve as an inter-disciplinary role, bridging gaps within the company between teams of different expertise
- Regularly interacts with the Chief Distribution Officer, EBD in the development of strategy and to ensure that the SBU’s priorities are aligned with the organization’s strategic direction
- As may be required, meet and interact with various State regulatory agencies
- Responsible for team that conducts all product filings and related work and management of policy form database
- Meet objectives and goals set forth by executive leadership
- Assist with additional duties/projects as assigned by management
