Summary

Join Contact Energy as their Health and Safety Specialist, reporting to the Head of Safety Leadership. You will support the strategic transformation of Health & Safety, acting as the go-to expert for questions beyond the scope of H&S Advisors. Your responsibilities include providing dedicated support to Generation & Trading and Retail, running learning teams, collating reporting, and contributing to Board papers. This senior role requires sound knowledge of New Zealand H&S legislation and its practical application, ideally within heavy industry. Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills are essential. While based near a Contact Energy site is advantageous, remote work is possible. Requirements

• Have sound knowledge of New Zealand H&S legislation and its practical application (ideally in heavy industry)
• Have worked at a senior level before, with appropriate qualifications and registrations
• Be a renowned communicator, able to clearly convey complex information to a variety of audiences
• Possess high EQ and great listening skills
• Have great writing skills to pull Board papers together

Responsibilities

• Support the strategic transformation of Health & Safety at Contact
• Act as the go-to person for any questions beyond the scope of an H&S Advisor
• Provide dedicated Health & Safety support to Generation & Trading (power stations) and Retail (contact centres and customer-facing teams)
• Be independent, involved, informed and informative
• Run learning teams
• Collate reporting
• Help pull Board papers together
• Take a considered, human-centred approach to maintain a successful workplace
