Housekeeper

Summary

Join Dexterra Group as a Housekeeper and play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness across our site's rooms and dorms. You will perform daily cleaning and sanitization, handle linen changes, and maintain clean work areas. This role requires knowledge of standard cleaning procedures and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position offers a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on/3 weeks off in a remote camp setting with individual accommodations. Requirements

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Climb ladders and stairs
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time
• Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
• Work with arms above shoulder height
• You must be able to pass a site access Drug and Alcohol test
• You have knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
• You are fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• You have the ability and desire to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team player
• You are able to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Perform walkdown of assigned dorms daily, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Daily cleaning and sanitization of guest rooms and shared washrooms
• Daily sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of guest rooms, common areas and dorm hallways
• Complete check-outs and linen changes as scheduled and in a timely manner
• Daily cleaning and sanitization of laundry rooms and high touch points in dorms
• Maintain cleanliness of dorm hallways, including high dusting of all surfaces
• Collect, launder and fold towels
• Maintain clean and organized work areas (including storage rooms and housekeeping cart) throughout the shift
• Maintain a safe working environment at all times
• Follow all safety controls related to COVID including regular handwashing, proper use of PPE and enhanced cleaning/sanitation requirements
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally, you have some janitorial and/or housekeeping experience
• Ideally, you have related experience in remote lodge setting or hotel/institutional environment; commercial cleaning is considered an asset
