Requirements
- Master's Degree is required for all faculty positions (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching - Human Biology, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology or Microbiology)
- Ability to provide unofficial and official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution. (or a NACES approved US course-by-course equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US)
- Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply
Responsibilities
- Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education/Chamberlain University syllabus that follows an established template, which includes the terminal course objectives
- Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
- Conduct the course using our student focused coaching model, focused on proactive outreach using phone, email communication, and use of other communication technologies
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students
- Performs/Completes other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 1-year online teaching experience
- Ability to recognize signs of disengagement or academic struggle and intervene early
- Passion for student success and care for students
- Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills
- Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
- Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups
Benefits
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience
