Industrial Designer

Summary

Join Quad Lock, a fast-growing company, for 18 months as an Industrial Designer to manage the design process, develop and deliver market-driven product design solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role requires project management skills, injection molding part design expertise, and proficiency in CAD software.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role with proven experience in delivering innovative and consumer-driven product design solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or Technology
• Strong project management skills with experience in Gantt chart creation and timeline management
• Expertise and experience in injection molding part design for mass manufacturing
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage relationships with suppliers and internal teams
• High attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of design and production meet the required specifications
• Ability to preempt risk and communicate early to mitigate potential issues
• Problem-solving abilities with a flexible approach to handling unexpected challenges

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process, including CAD development, surface refinement, and technical drawings
• Work closely with the Manufacturing Lead to execute a high volume of phone case programs
• Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met on schedule
• Manage multiple phone case design programs simultaneously, ensuring all projects meet timeline expectations
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to confirm designs, tooling, and production plans
• Ensure high-quality standards by overseeing design reviews, testing, and validation processes
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations
• Play a significant role in the ongoing design and development of our expanding product categories
• Opportunity to travel abroad and work closely on the ground floor with suppliers, gaining hands-on experience and ensuring the highest standards of production quality
