Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of network protocols and services
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or Unix
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Support Infrastructure Projects: Assist in the planning, development, and deployment of infrastructure projects
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure project goals are met
  • System Maintenance: Help monitor and maintain existing infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Network Management: Assist in the configuration and management of network components such as routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Monitor network performance and security
  • Documentation: Maintain and update technical documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for common issues
  • Automation and Scripting: Learn and assist in creating scripts to automate repetitive tasks
  • Support efforts in infrastructure automation and orchestration
  • Security and Compliance: Assist in implementing security measures to protect the infrastructure
  • Help ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other team members and departments to support IT initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Debian or Ubuntu is preferred
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Previous internship or coursework related to IT infrastructure or system administration is beneficial but not required

Benefits

  • Compensation: $20/hr
  • 29 hours per week
  • Remote in the United States
