Join Eurofins Scientific as an Inside Sales Representative and contribute to the sales cycle by generating and managing leads. You will identify and qualify potential customers, build relationships, and understand their needs within the life science or Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry. Responsibilities include qualifying leads from various sources, following up on existing leads, participating in lead generation strategies, researching potential leads, developing sales opportunities, further developing accounts, performing gap analysis, proactively following up with customers, maintaining contact logs, tracking performance metrics, building pipelines, collaborating with other departments, providing customer feedback, assessing competitors, maintaining CRM records, and participating in trade shows. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, multitasking, and time management skills, along with in-depth knowledge of the drug discovery industry and sales processes. Requirements
- Advanced degree in Biology, Chemistry, drug discovery or related discipline, BS required or M.S ideal
- Minimum 2 -3 years’ experience working in drug discovery
- B2B Sales experience, preferably in a CRO or life sciences company
- Demonstrated experience in interfacing with clients in a life science-based company preferred
- Previous inside sales experience or related sales experience preferred
- Laboratory experience in drug discovery research or sales preferred
- Previous experience in a client-facing role such as inside sales, market development, or client services
- Ability to work from a home office (high-speed internet, secure workspace)
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Inside Sales Representative responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
- Inside Sales Representative is a key contributor to the sales cycle supporting overall Lead generation and management process
- They will be responsible for identification and qualification of potential customers through various channels while building a relationship to understand and meet clients’ needs
- This role requires an understanding of inside sales in a life science or Contract research organization
- Understanding of development of new contacts and leads through various approaches is key
- Working with business development and account managers to drive to sales targets is a key objective for the role
- Qualify leads from digital marketing campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc
- Follow up on existing cold and warm leads to re-engage them in the sales process
- Participate in lead generation strategies, such as cold calling/emailing, to identify business prospects and create/maintain a list of potential customers
- Research potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources
- Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing quotations
- Further develop accounts by checking customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items (cross sell), and explaining technical features
- Perform gap analysis in stagnant or inactive accounts
- Proactively follow up with customers to get their feedback, guarantee their satisfaction and develop ideas for pitch modification to more successfully advertise products
- Maintain a log of which customers have been contacted, the outcome of each interaction and issues that need to be flagged for follow up
- Track weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
- Build pipelines with channel partners and team members to close sales
- Collaborate with professionals from other departments to identify improvements to product offerings, sales education, marketing strategies and other business-related topics
- Provide customer related feedback to the Business Development Managers, Product Managers and Marketing Teams
- Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records in the CRM; assist with CRM clean-up
- Input leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities into the company CRM and maintain the accuracy of these records to timeframes as directed by sales management
- Participate in trade shows, vendor shows, and related activities as deemed necessary
- Perform other duties and lead special projects as required and assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to drive and achieve desired objectives
- Ability to understand and translate customers’ needs into the proper solution
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and other web-based applications; Knowledge of and the ability to master CRM programs
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail; possesses the ability to (cold) call, connect and interact with potential customers
- Tenacity to handle rejection and continue with a positive attitude when reaching next potential client
- Ability to work well in a team environment but also capable of working independently; Self-motivated and self-directed; Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- In-depth understanding of the drug discovery industry and process
- Knowledge of sales process from initiation to close
- Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
- Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories; Customer-centric
