Summary
Join Altera's technology team as an Integration Architect, designing, implementing, and managing seamless integration between systems, applications, and platforms. You will develop and execute integration strategies, design scalable architectures using the latest technologies, and lead API development. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to ensuring solutions align with business goals. This remote role in Canada requires expertise in integration methodologies, API design, and enterprise architecture principles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful integration projects and strong communication skills. You will also be responsible for performance monitoring, governance, compliance, technology evaluation, and providing training and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent/years of experience required
- 5-8 years of experience in integration architecture, systems integration, or enterprise architecture roles, with a proven track record of successful integration projects
- Experience with integration platforms and tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Apache Camel, Dell Boomi, or similar) as well as a strong understanding of web services (REST/SOAP) and messaging protocols (e.g., JMS, MQTT)
- Strong knowledge of design patterns, microservices architecture, API management, and data integration techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for integration development
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an integration strategy that supports business objectives and enhances the organization’s ability to leverage data and services across platforms
- Design scalable and robust integration architectures using the latest technologies and standards, ensuring they are aligned with best practices and industry trends
- Lead the design and development of APIs and microservices to enable data exchange between applications while ensuring security and performance
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and business analysts to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, architectures, and data flow diagrams to ensure knowledge sharing and clarity among stakeholders
- Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary optimizations to ensure high availability and responsiveness of integrated systems
- Establish and enforce governance policies related to integration practices, security standards, and data management to maintain compliance with regulations
- Stay updated on emerging integration technologies and tools, evaluating their potential impact and proposing recommendations for adoption based on business needs
- Provide guidance and training to development teams and stakeholders on integration best practices and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Certified Integration Architect) is preferred
