Summary

Join our team as a Project Manager and contribute to delivering high-quality projects that meet customer needs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing small-scale projects with multiple tasks, tracking and coordinating various imaging modalities, and providing instruction on quality assurance reviews.

Requirements

  • Experience within a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department; OR Experience working in or with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA); OR Understanding of VISN, VA medical center, and Biomedical Engineering department operations
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Medical Imaging
  • A minimum of three years of hospital or healthcare experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of concepts related to computer based medical systems, networking protocols, and information security as it applies to medical technology within VHA
  • Demonstrated competency in the ability to function as the subject matter expert in the field of biomedical engineering, directly supporting specialized clinical technology, including service, system administration, training, quality assurance, and life-cycle management
  • Ability to effectively advise clinical and administrative staff on medical technology, including existing and emerging technology, which addresses viability, long-term suitability, compatibility, and/or safety; to apply project management principles to deployment of medical equipment and health information technologies
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating and working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including technical and professional staff at various levels of the organization
  • Understanding of regulatory agenciesโ€™ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards
  • High level knowledge of PACS system software and systems life cycle management (including systems documentation, design, development, configuration management, cost analysis, database administration, systems integration, and/or testing) is required
  • Must possess the knowledge and skills to analyze PACS hardware and/or software requirements and high-level knowledge of DICOM and HL7 are required
  • Knowledge of technical system design and data management and/or maintenance principles and techniques is also required
  • Experience with non-DICOM imaging solutions e.g., cardiology, bronchoscopy, GI, ENT, and POC ultrasound
  • Understanding and familiarity with how these systems integrate with the electronic health record

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks requiring management of a small-scale project encompassing multiple tasks with a total life cycle budget and complexity comparable to the task order at hand
  • Track and coordinate various imaging modalities through the project lifecycle
  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives in accordance with the customer technical requirements
  • Compile and analyze technical data
  • Advise client management and customers on complex system projects and activities
  • Work closely with customers to define communication systems and equipment requirements
  • Provide instruction on and perform and document quality assurance reviews
