Intern, Institutional Funding And Partnerships

Summary

Join Oxfam America's Institutional Funding and Partnerships department as an intern! This role supports institutional fundraising through research and analysis of philanthropic trends, corporate sectors, and donor prospects. You will research and analyze donor data, identify key personnel, and create reports mapping donors to program areas. The internship is 35 hours per week for up to one year, paying $17.00 per hour. Remote work is possible within a 200-mile radius of Oxfam's Boston or Washington D.C. offices. The ideal candidate possesses excellent research and communication skills and a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a related field.

Requirements

• Candidate for or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (preferable) in English, History, Political Science, International Relations or related fields
• Excellent research skills
• Proficiency with MS Office suite
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills; ability to prioritize workload and multi-task
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
• Very good oral and written communications skills
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Team Player; eager to take on challenges and work as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support institutional fundraising efforts, primarily through research and analysis of philanthropic trends, corporate business sectors, and institutional donor prospects
• Use fundraising databases and other sources to research and analyze philanthropic trends among foundation, corporate and government donors to help us formulate our institutional fundraising strategy
• Identify key people within funding institutions for outreach
• Create reports that map donors to key program areas
• Update donor profiles/templates
• Conduct preliminary ethical screens

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a non-profit
• Knowledge of the field of international development, humanitarian and human rights
