Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Financial Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in global indirect tax, specifically in EMEA, APAC, and North America
  • Thorough knowledge of VAT structuring and technical consulting associated with U.S.-headquartered companies with international operations and familiarity with non-U.S. tax matters

Responsibilities

  • Drive high quality indirect tax accounting and reporting
  • Work with our tax engine (Vertex), quoting and billing tool (Salesforce.com) and GL system (Dynamics 365) to confirm appropriate VAT/GST tax treatment of our foreign entity invoices
  • Oversee and execute the compliance function from gathering, analysis, and summarization of information on a monthly and quarterly basis to be provided to outside consultants for foreign VAT/GST return preparation
  • Oversee and manage all VAT/GST related balance sheet accounts on our GL including all month-end close procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee and manage all governmental and company related VAT/GST audits that arise
  • Oversee maintenance of the foreign indirect tax calendar/task matrix for all foreign compliance duties and deadlines
  • Oversee standardization of tax reporting and data analytics by utilizing existing tools and identifying areas for enhancement
  • Oversee indirect tax registrations in relevant tax jurisdictions and advise as to local country technical requirements
  • Proactively monitor and operate a robust internal control tax environment in compliance with SOX requirements
  • Oversee and manage tax logic, create test scenarios and work with team related to system upgrades and new feature implementation
  • Respond to questions and issues from business units and functional groups
  • Develop and maintain working relationships outside the finance organization
  • Monitor changes to tax laws and reporting requirements and communicating any relevant developments to senior leadership
