Requirements

  • Presence and credibility to present effectively to key senior management
  • A willingness to work towards CFA designation is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Calculate cashflows, risk metrics, and other analytics for structured assets
  • Develop quantitative techniques for evaluating select prospective and existing investments
  • Facilitate in the preparation of written materials to communicate investment strategy, performance, and risk monitoring
  • Develop automated and efficient reporting to monitor portfolio positions, activity, risk, performance, and compliance and explain such information to senior management, Investment Committee, and Board of Directors
  • Collaborate with Investment Managers and the Fortitude Re team to develop investment recommendations based on market conditions and ALM and capital position
  • Perform due diligence on asset portfolios that may be acquired in future acquisitions and develop asset strategies for any future reinsurance liabilities

Be a part of our 9-week Internship Development Program, where you will have the opportunity to apply knowledge gained through your college courses. Becoming an Investment Analytics Intern is a great way to enhance your business acumen and gain insight into our industry. Interns are placed into meaningful roles that have an immediate and integral impact on the business.  The internship will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office and will run from June 2, 2025, through August 1, 2025. You must be available for all 9 weeks of the program.

Fortitude Re’s investments team determines and develops asset strategies designed to support reinsured liabilities.  The team is responsible for developing and maintaining Fortitude Re’s investment plan based on its strategic asset allocation, guiding Fortitude Re’s asset managers to execute such asset strategies and monitoring the asset portfolio to assess performance and portfolio risk.  The investments unit also communicates investment activities to executive management, the Board of Directors, Investment Committee, regulators, and other interested parties.  The group will play an essential role in the pricing and due diligence of potential new business acquisitions.

What You Will Do:
