Summary

Join the Specialisterne Academy, an 8-week online program partnered with the HG Foundation and IBM SkillsBuild, designed to equip autistic adults with the technical and soft skills needed for an IT career. The academy provides comprehensive instruction, culminating in an IT Support Technician Certification and applied industry experience. Participants will benefit from self-directed eLearning, instructor-led programming, hands-on exercises, and small class sizes. The program focuses on both technological and social/professional skills development and is free to attend. Successful completion may lead to employment opportunities with Specialisterne's business partners.

Requirements

  • Be an autistic adult (18+)
  • Be currently located in the US Eastern Time Zone (ET)
  • Be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
  • Be available to participate in a full-time 8-week program
  • Be a high school graduate prior to the cohort you're interested in
  • Be interested in learning about Information Technology
  • Be motivated to seek employment in the IT field
  • Be able to learn and collaborate in a virtual environment
  • Have reliable access to internet, a computer, and a suitable workspace
  • Be available online 9am-5pm (ET), Monday-Friday for the duration of the course
  • Be able to complete 2-3 hours of independent reading and eLearning each day
  • Be comfortable with basic digital tasks like browsing the web, sending emails, and using video calling technology
