Summary

Join DataForce by TransPerfect as a Linguist with idiomatic fluency in Italian for a 9-month, full-time, remote position in Spain starting in June 2025. You will curate and evaluate linguistic data, review speech model outputs, and automate tasks using scripts. The role requires a master's degree in Linguistics and strong linguistic knowledge. Experience in data curation, evaluation, or linguistic analysis is preferred. Advanced English is required, and French or Spanish proficiency is a plus. You will collaborate with a team to improve data quality and processes. This is a permanent discontinuous employment contract.

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a master’s degree or higher in Linguistics
  • Strong understanding of linguistic concepts such as phonetics, syntax, semantics, and morphology
  • Strong understanding of phonetic transcription (eg., IPA)
  • Idiomatic fluency in Italian
  • Advanced level of English
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Curate and evaluate linguistic data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Review and assess outputs generated by speech models
  • Execute scripts via command line for task automation or data handling (running, not developing)
  • Provide feedback and draw conclusions based on the analyzed data
  • Collaborate with the team to continuously improve data quality and task processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with phoneme labeling, analyzing audio for phonetic patterns or conducting annotations in TTS/ASR systems is a plus
  • Previous experience in similar tasks (data curation, evaluation, or linguistic analysis) is a plus
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus
