Summary

The job is for a Data Analyst at Rystad Energy's North America Gas Market Team in Trinidad & Tobago. The role involves data collection, cleaning, analysis, and maintenance of databases and dashboards related to North American gas markets.

Requirements

• University degree (Master or Bachelor) in energy, engineering, information technology, mathematics, geosciences, physics or similar
• 0-2 years of professional experience
• Experience of programming in Python, or a similar language for modeling and/or web crawlers
• An interest in taking ownership for and delivering value through data analytics and modeling
• Strong collaborative skills
• Proactive, open-minded and creative
• Good English skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimize the collection and cleaning of North America Gas Market data (from sources such as the EIA, operator websites)
• Create and maintain Power BI dashboards for internal and external analysis
• Work closely with our local North America Gas Market team to understand and support our clients’ data needs
• Ensure data integrity and analyze the data with statistical methods
• Use internal and external data to develop models and simulators of physical and economic systems for use in internal products (e.g. price fundamentals, coal-to-gas switching & gas-for-power within the North America power mix)
• Contribute to the continued development of Rystad Energy’s dashboard and Cube products
• Contribute to and write client commentaries and reports
• Communicate results internally and support our external customers; translate client’s strategic thinking into actionable goals together with Product Managers and Analysts

Preferred Qualifications

• Energy sector knowledge and understanding
• Experience with using SQL and PowerBI
