Summary

Barbaricum is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Philadelphia Division with HM&E machinery and ship control systems analysis. The candidate must have active DoD Secret security clearance, a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, and one year of experience in complex big data analysis.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree in a statistical, mathematical, computer science, or engineering discipline
• One (1) year of experience in identifying trends and problems through complex big data analysis
• Experience architecting scalable process solutions prepared with big data, data driven Machine Learning tools such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Pandas, and NumPy, Natural Language Processing, and implementing data models and developing data sources to support organizational solutions

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
• Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets
• Visualize, interpret, and report findings

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of naval shipboard Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical systems
