Summary
Join Power Digital's AI/ML team as a Junior Data Scientist, where you will leverage your SQL fluency and data exploration skills to support the data science team and help internal/external teams understand complex datasets. You will collaborate with senior data scientists, analysts, engineers, and marketers to deliver actionable insights and scalable models. This role involves advanced data exploration and analysis using SQL, Python, and other tools, partnering with senior data scientists to develop ML models, translating findings for non-technical stakeholders, and supporting the creation of ML pipelines. You will contribute to internal PoVs and experiments, maintain data hygiene, and communicate technical findings effectively. The ideal candidate possesses 1β2 years of SQL experience in production environments, a foundational understanding of machine learning, and comfort with Python or R. Excellent communication skills and a Bachelor's degree in a technical field are also required.
Requirements
- 1β2 years of experience working with SQL in production environments β you must be highly fluent navigating large relational databases
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts (regression, classification, clustering, feature engineering, etc.)
- Comfort with Python or R for exploratory analysis and prototyping (experience with pandas, scikit-learn, or similar libraries is a plus)
- Familiarity with data wrangling, API querying, and joining multiple data sources from disparate platforms (marketing, ecomm, web, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work independently with ambiguous tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially translating quantitative work into business-relevant narratives
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields)
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced data exploration and analysis using SQL, Python, and other tools across eCommerce, media, and CRM datasets
- Partner with senior data scientists to scope, prototype, and refine ML models β from forecasting to classification to recommendation systems
- Translate ambiguous problems into structured analysis and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Support the creation of ML pipelines and automate recurring analysis to increase internal efficiency and speed to insight
- Contribute to internal PoVs (Proofs of Value) and small-scale AI experiments in partnership with product and engineering teams
- Maintain strong data hygiene and documentation practices to ensure transparency and reproducibility
- Collaborate in effectively communicating technical findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making
- Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
- Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department
