Junior Estimator

Summary

The job description is for a Junior Estimator position at a well-established construction company. The successful candidate will support the estimation process, prepare cost estimates, compile BOQs, attend site clarification meetings, follow up on RFQs, and build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Requirements include a BTech in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, at least 2 years’ relevant experience, proficiency in Candy (CCS) and MS Office, a valid driver's license, excellent communication skills, good decision-making abilities, the ability to prioritize, and a proactive approach. The salary is negotiable.

Requirements

• BTech in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• At least 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar built environment
• Proficiency in Candy (CCS) and MS Office
• Valid Driver’s License and own transport
• Excellent planning, organizing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize and focus on deliverables
• A motivated self-starter with a proactive and solution-driven approach
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a demanding environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates
• Assist with tender submissions
• Package RFQs (Request of Quotations)
• Compile comprehensive BOQs and measure and draw-up BOQs from drawings
• Attend site clarification meetings for tenders and provide feedback to Senior Management
• Follow up on RFQs sent out to Sub-Contractors, ensuring competitive pricing on each trade for the tender
