Summary
A well-established building contractor in Cape Town is seeking to employ a qualified Junior Estimator who can join their growing team. The job involves preparing cost estimates, assisting with tender submissions, compiling BOQs, attending site clarification meetings, and following up on RFQs sent out to Sub-Contractors.
Requirements
- BTech in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification in the built environment
- Minimum 2 yearsβ relevant experience working in a building contractor environment
- Proficiency in CCS Candy and MS Office essential
- Valid Driverβs License and own transport
Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate cost estimates
- Assisting with tender submissions
- Packaging RFQs (Request of Quotations)
- Compiling comprehensive BOQs, as well as measuring and drawing-up of BOQs from drawings
- Attend site clarification meetings for tenders and provide feedback to Senior Management
- Following up on RFQs sent out to Sub-Contractors, ensuring that the most competitive priced quotes are received on each trade for the tender
- Build relationships with various Sub-Contractors and Suppliers to ensure the best pricing is received in the market
