Junior Java Developer

Summary

Join Encora as a Junior Java Developer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions for supply chain and warehouse management systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and continuously improve software development practices. This remote position is based in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia. You will ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems using Java, Spring Boot, and various other technologies. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5 years of experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• 3-5 years of experience
• Excellent proficiency in Java and Spring boot framework
• Experience with messaging technologies and streaming platforms (Kafka)
• Experience with RESTful architecture and micro services
• Must know modern infrastructure tools and pipelines (GitLab, CI/CD, Terraform)
• Test automation experience at all levels (Unit, Integration, Regression and Performance/Load)
• Familiar with logging and metrics tools (New Relic, Splunk)
• Proficiency with Cloud technologies (AWS, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• Develop software systems supporting Supply Chain services and warehouse management systems
• Participate in design, architecture and implementation of software systems solving complex problems. Includes defining, scoping and estimating stories and work artifacts
• Ensure delivery of high quality, scalable, maintainable and well tested code

Preferred Qualifications

• GCP is a plus
• Should be able to articulate and architect a well-designed system
• Familiarity with relational databases is a plus
• Supply Chain experience is a plus
• Understanding of modern warehouse management systems is a bonus
