Junior Network Engineer in Pakistan

Summary

The Junior Network Engineer role involves assisting in network operations as guided by the shift-in charge, collaborating with the network team, handling tasks, monitoring the network, conducting performance tests, and troubleshooting user issues. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, CCNA/CCNP certifications, up to one year of experience as a junior networking engineer, advanced knowledge of network operating systems, hands-on experience with NMS, familiarity with communication protocols, network best practices, and good problem-solving skills are required. The candidate should have excellent leadership and mentoring skills, good communication and teamwork skills, and be available for both shifts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Certifications/ Training of CCNA, CCNP
• Previous work experience of Upto One (1) Year as a junior networking engineer
• Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Sophos Firewall, Access points and Wireless LAN controllers
• Hands-on experience in deploying NMS (PRTG, Cisco Prime, SolarWind)
• Familiarity with communication, routing protocols and network analysis tools
• Proficiency in network best practices
• Good understanding of physical layer, moderate understanding of Data-Link-layer and better understanding of communication flow in existing networks
• Good hands on experience in Mac terminal
• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
• High level problem-solving skills
• Good communication and team work skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in all routine network operations as guided or assigned by shift-in charge and above
• Collaborate with Network Head to design and implement functional company networks
• Install and configure networking hardware
• Create and implement network security measures
• Plan for redundancy
• Coordinate with ISPs
• Conduct regular network performance tests
• Deal with escalated network support issues
• Monitor network access layer operations actively and passively
• Troubleshoot user end issues on Macbook and Windows
