Summary

Ferryscanner is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer with basic knowledge of PHP and/or Java to assist in developing and maintaining API connections, optimize back-end services, and collaborate on new features. Requirements

• Professional experience (1+ year) in software development or equivalent hands-on project experience
• Basic knowledge of PHP and/or Java

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining API connections with various platforms, including Google, ChatGPT, Bing, etc
• Support the development and optimization of back-end services and ensure integration with databases
• Help retrieve, manipulate, update, and delete records in our databases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the design and implementation of new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with guidance from senior engineers
• Assist in ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with API development and integration is a plus
• Understanding of working with databases (SQL/NoSQL)
• Basic knowledge of version control (Git)
• Interest in learning about CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with CMS is a plus
• Understanding of Agile methodologies is a plus
