Junior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Makpar as a Junior Software Engineer and contribute to the development and management of public-facing websites and reporting databases for our client. This role involves planning, designing, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining highly scalable web-based services utilizing modern technologies.

Requirements

• 2 years of professional software development experience
• Full-stack development experience, from concept to UI and back-end implementation
• 1+ year of in-depth working knowledge of ASP.NET Core using C#.NET, HTML5, CSS, MS SQL Server, and Identity
• 1+ year of experience with Agile methodology and eXtreme Programming best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD, and pair programming
• 1+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• Experience or knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps Server
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server and IIS management
• Experience or knowledge of building interfaces in compliance with Section 508, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Web Accessibility Initiative - Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) standards
• Knowledge of implementing security best practices at the application development and hosting layers
• Experience with a distributed version control system like GIT and SVN
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and experience with Azure DevOps Server for automated builds
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure platforms
• Excellent communication skills
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, build, test, deploy, and maintain highly scalable web-based services utilizing modern technologies
• Collaborate with business analysts to analyze business requirements, design solutions, and document them. Engage with stakeholders and end-users to gather and analyze requirements effectively
• Write unit tests and code that align with coding standards and best practices
• Possess knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and the ability to deploy services to the customer development environment
