Junior Software Engineer

Summary

The job description is for a Junior Developer position at StarCompliance. Requirements

• 2 years experience
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Driven, proactive, positive attitude
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
• Proficient with the Microsoft .NET framework and development environment including C#, ASP.NET MVC, NHibernate (or Entity Framework) and Visual Studio
• Solid experience/knowledge of an enterprise level relational database management system (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Experience of web-based client-side technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.)
• Experience of working with a version control system such as TFS, Git, CVS, etc
• A good understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design

Responsibilities

• Ensure all software delivered is of a high quality and complies with standards set
• Ensure agreed upon development processes, procedures and best practices are adopted and followed
• Contribute to the architecture and design of the team’s development work and ensure it is fit for purpose
• Identify, communicate and help mitigate risks
• Identify, promote, implement and adopt relevant industry best practices, processes and technologies
• Contribute to the coding and development of feature work
• Ensure their skillset is kept up-to-date with the technologies that are employed at StarCompliance
• Create and maintain easy to understand technical and non-technical documentation

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of working with PowerShell is desirable
