Junior Trader

Summary

The job is for a position at DV Trading, a rapidly growing financial services firm. The role involves working with senior energy traders, learning proprietary trading systems, real-time risk management, building and maintaining trading models, enhancing existing trades, identifying new opportunities, and liaising between trading group, internal departments, and OTC relationships.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and ability to learn quickly in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• Detail oriented, organized and diligent
• Strong interest in trading and energy markets
• Strong understanding of math, probability and statistics
• Proficient with Excel and VBA
• Proficient with SQL, Python, and statistical modeling; Other programming experience is a plus
• Advanced aptitude for problem solving and multitasking

Responsibilities

• Work side by side with senior energy traders
• Learn proprietary methodologies and trading systems that support an established trading business
• Real-time risk management in the form of trade entry and risk layoffs
• Build and maintain trading models
• Enhance existing trades; identify and pursue new opportunities
• Liaise between trading group, internal company departments, and OTC relationships
