Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field
  • Technical skills : Proficiency in Python plus familiarity with AI frameworks, RESTful APIs, and automation scripting. Experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI API), chatbot prototyping, Power Automate, LangChain, or similar tools is advantageous
  • Practical exposure : Relevant internship, capstone, or hackathon projects that demonstrate building AI, data or automation solutions will count as experience
  • Domain curiosity: Ability to quickly learn how different business functions operate and to propose fit for purpose AI automations
  • Problem solving and drive: Strong analytical skills, a bias for experimentation and a commitment to staying current with AI advances
  • Communication and collaboration: Understand the pain points of each role talking to people. Translate technical concepts to non-technical peers; gather requirements and run training sessions
  • Adaptability and time management: Juggle multiple mini-projects, iterate fast, and thrive amid evolving AI toolchains
  • Ethical and responsible AI mindset : Proactively consider data privacy, bias mitigation, and compliance when designing agents or liaise with the Tech Team to create the right AI solutions
  • Growth mindset: Stay current with LLM/agent advances, experiment with new frameworks, and share learnings across the organization
  • Able to work autonomously and take the initiative: Involves proactively managing tasks, solving problems independently, and driving projects forward without needing constant supervision

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI‑powered solutions: Design, build, and deploy agents using agentic workflows and LLM APIs to automate and enhance Packt business processes
  • Collaborate with Vertical teams: Partner with Verticals to map processes, surface bottlenecks and deliver tailored AI solutions
  • Develop cross-business perspective: Spend rotation weeks shadowing multiple verticals and roles to ensure agents solve company-wide, not siloed, problems
  • Integrate with existing systems: Connect agents to core platforms such as the CRM, CMS, e‑commerce site, and BI dashboards through robust API integrations and scripting
  • Ensure security, compliance, and responsible AI: Work with the Tech Team to uphold data privacy standards, monitor models for bias and document mitigation strategies
  • Technical problem solving: Debug agent behaviour, profile performance and deliver scalable, fault tolerant solutions alongside the Tech Team
  • Continuous improvement: Track metrics, gather feedback, and iteratively refine prompts, memory, and tool chains to maximize impact
  • Documentation and training: Create clear documentation and training material for fellow Packt employees on effective agent use

  • Technical leadership path: Advance into Developer (Platforms team) or Data Analyst roles
  • Cross-functional path: Transition into product management and acquisition (relationship lead), marketing and sales enablement (growth lead) or editorial automation (content engineer), applying your AI expertise to drive innovation
