Large Language Model Consultant

Summary

Join IREX as an international consultant to support the development of an AI-powered hate speech detection tool for Sri Lanka. You will collaborate with IREX and DreamSpace (Private) Limited to enhance an existing system using Large Language Models (LLMs). Responsibilities include consulting on NLP techniques, guiding LLM selection and model development, and advising on dataset governance. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in NLP, experience with LLMs, and expertise in low-resource language processing. The project aims to improve hate speech detection on various online platforms, contributing to a more positive online environment in Sri Lanka. This is a consultancy contract with the possibility of renewal.

Requirements

• Possess a B.Sc. or higher qualification in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, NLP, or a related field
• Have hands-on working experience with both commercial and open-source Large Language Models
• Demonstrate experience in applying NLP techniques on low-resource (non-English) languages
• Possess experience in designing, developing, and deploying real-time language monitoring and reporting systems with dashboards
• Exhibit strong communication, interpersonal skills, work ethic, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment

Responsibilities

• Consult the development team on various NLP techniques
• Provide guidance during the LLM selection and model development and deployment
• Offer consultation regarding the governance of the dataset and possible improvements
• Perform other duties as needed by IREX or partners
