Summary
Join Gameloft, a leading game development and publishing company, as a Lead 3D Animator. You will play a key role in the animation team, collaborating with designers and other teams to create captivating user experiences. Lead and mentor a team of 3D animators, defining and maintaining the animation style. Responsibilities include providing feedback, improving workflows, and assisting in task planning. The ideal candidate possesses strong animation experience, a deep understanding of animation principles, and proficiency in 3dsMax. Requirements
- Passionate about mentoring others to further develop their artistic and technical skill sets and are excited about managing, leading, and continuing to grow a world-class character art team
- Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
- A demonstrable commitment to creative collaboration within a team and with other departments
- Strong professional experience in animation
- Deep understanding of animation principles and the best way to employ these
- Excellent knowledge of human/creature anatomy and motion
- Experience with Biped, Cat and Custom rigs
- Experience in 3dsMax is essential
- Passion for videogames and animations!
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 3D animators, helping them grow both artistically and technically
- Define, maintain, and evolve the animation style in line with the creative direction of the game
- Collaborate closely with the art director, game designers, and tech teams to ensure animations integrate seamlessly into the gameplay experience
- Provide feedback and reviews on animations, ensuring consistency, quality, and technical accuracy
- Contribute to pipeline and workflow improvements, supporting team efficiency and scalability
- Assist in planning, scoping, and prioritizing animation tasks to meet production deadlines
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews for animation team members
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in motion capture data files
- Experience in MotionBuilder
- Data experience working with animations in most popular game engines
- Experience in Flash and 2D animation
