Lead Animator

Summary

The job is for a Lead Animator at Zoic Studios, a Visual Effects company based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The role involves creating standard setting animation while also supporting and mentoring the CG animation team for a stop-motion animated feature starting in June 2024.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a CG Character Animator in the entertainment industry
• Experience leading a team of animators in a production environment
• Expertise in traditional animation principles, acting, performance, layout, and composition for feature film production
• Strong knowledge of Maya animation tools and workflow
• Experience working in a visual effects pipeline
• Experience working with motion capture data and crowds

Responsibilities

• Create standard setting animation
• Support and mentor the growing CG animation team

Preferred Qualifications

A firm grasp of technical animation issues including character effects and rigging
