Summary

Join NuvoAir Medical as a Lead Backend Engineer to build and scale the next generation of our digital health platform. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing backend services for virtual care solutions. Design, develop, and deploy backend services; continuously improve and maintain the quality, performance, and reliability of backend systems; ensure robust security and adherence to regulatory standards; contribute to scaling service-oriented architecture; and provide technical leadership and mentorship. This high-impact role requires 10+ years of backend engineering experience with proficiency in Java or Kotlin, Spring framework, ORM tools, and relational databases. Experience with service-oriented and event-driven systems, high-traffic production systems, and Kubernetes environments is essential. The ideal candidate will also possess a passion for improving global healthcare outcomes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of backend engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, Spring framework, ORM tools, and relational databases
  • Proven experience building and maintaining service-oriented and event-driven systems including experience with tools like Kafka
  • Demonstrated ability to ship and support high-traffic production systems
  • Experience deploying services in Kubernetes environments

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy backend services and features in partnership with product teams
  • Continuously improve and maintain the quality, performance, and reliability of Nuvoair's backend systems
  • Ensure robust security and adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Contribute to scaling our service-oriented architecture to support a growing global user base
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices in system design and implementation
  • Take ownership of the services you build, including ensuring their ongoing operational health, reliability, and support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DevOps practices and infrastructure automation
  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms.Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
  • Background in the healthcare industry or regulated environments
  • Full-stack or web development skills (JavaScript, React, etc.)
