Join DC Thomson's Data Science & Insights team as a Data Team Lead! You will oversee the design, creation, and analysis of core datasets, leading a squad of analysts and executing the group data strategy. Collaborate with product, marketing, and editorial teams to ensure data-driven decisions. This hands-on role involves building automated dashboards, enriching data models, and driving senior leaders to utilize insights. The role is remote-first with occasional office visits in London or Dundee. Requirements

• SQL-based data modelling (including version control)
• Cloud-based data warehouses
• Evidence of delivering several data projects
• Complex analysis combining data from multiple sources
• Presenting analysis in an effective manner to senior leadership
• Developing analytics strategies to glean the most insight from data

Responsibilities

• Lead a data team: Reporting into the Head of Data Science and Insights, you will lead a squad of analysts and play a pivotal role in executing the group data strategy. In addition, you will guide the team through the nuances of the data challenges presented by the diverse set of brands within the DC Thomson portfolio
• Working alongside multiple functions: You’ll work with product, marketing, and editorial within our community structure to ensure data is at the heart of all our strategic decisions
• Evangelising self-service data analysis: Aid stakeholders in how to use data and help them understand why it’s so critical in ensuring cutting-edge tech companies remain customer centric
• Designing and building: Create magic through automated dashboards and reporting, thus, allowing stakeholders to seamlessly integrate data into their day-to-day work
• Enriching and creating data models: Ensure we are always using our data in the best way possible to maximise our insight
• Being a data leader in the business: Driving senior leaders in the business to utilise insight and make data-driven decisions
• Maintaining our data governance: Ensuring stakeholders always have access to accurate up to date data

Preferred Qualifications

Fluency with Snowflake data warehouse, dbt as the data transformation tool and Looker BI tool
