Summary

Join Tide's Developer Experience team in London as a Lead Developer Experience Engineer. This role requires a highly experienced engineer with expertise in GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, containerized application deployment (Go, Java, Python), and cloud platforms (AWS, Kubernetes). You will design, build, and maintain cloud-based solutions, mentor other engineers, and champion best practices. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in distributed computing, various programming languages, and cloud technologies. Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in distributed computing
  • Good working knowledge of web based applications
  • A depth of knowledge with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Go, JavaScript
  • Experience with a variety of cloud computing platforms and technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and EKS
  • Deployed containerised TypeScript, Java or Python applications
  • Familiarity with developer portals such as Backstage
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in Pair Coding
  • Ability to automate - Infrastructure as Code

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud-based solutions
  • Lead and mentor other engineers
  • Champion best practices in software development, and in agile ways of working
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud computing technologies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and cloud-based issues
  • Work with other teams to ensure that cloud-based solutions meet the needs of the business, strong collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in all areas is not required, but willingness to learn is essential
