Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with an engineering consulting firm performing civil engineering work with a geotechnical focus in heavy civil design and construction
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineering Certification (PE) or ability to obtain within 18 months

Responsibilities

  • Design, construction, and finite element analysis of earth structures and foundations
  • Perform geotechnical analysis, design calculations, and ensure soil stability for heavy civil projects
  • Conduct pile driving analysis, dynamic pile testing, and CAPWAP for marine structural foundations
  • Collaborate with structural engineers to create complementary foundation designs
  • Evaluate soil and rock properties, load-bearing capacity, and ground improvement for heavy-lift foundations
  • Address environmental impacts and ensure sustainable practices in heavy-lift foundations
  • Collect data, analyze slope stability, manage groundwater, and assess geotechnical risks
  • Use tools like AutoCAD for design and decision-making
  • Assist with proposals, reports, and project phases
  • Coordinate tasks, review junior staff work, and ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Prepare design calculations, coordinate field work, provide construction observations, and perform site visits to analyze data

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
