Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with an engineering consulting firm performing civil engineering work with a geotechnical focus in heavy civil design and construction
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
- Professional Engineering Certification (PE) or ability to obtain within 18 months
Responsibilities
- Design, construction, and finite element analysis of earth structures and foundations
- Perform geotechnical analysis, design calculations, and ensure soil stability for heavy civil projects
- Conduct pile driving analysis, dynamic pile testing, and CAPWAP for marine structural foundations
- Collaborate with structural engineers to create complementary foundation designs
- Evaluate soil and rock properties, load-bearing capacity, and ground improvement for heavy-lift foundations
- Address environmental impacts and ensure sustainable practices in heavy-lift foundations
- Collect data, analyze slope stability, manage groundwater, and assess geotechnical risks
- Use tools like AutoCAD for design and decision-making
- Assist with proposals, reports, and project phases
- Coordinate tasks, review junior staff work, and ensure high-quality deliverables
- Prepare design calculations, coordinate field work, provide construction observations, and perform site visits to analyze data
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
