Lead Security Engineer, Remote - Argentine Republic

Summary

The job is for a Lead Security Engineer at CookUnity, a chef-to-you marketplace. The role involves ensuring the security of systems, data, and networks, developing and implementing security policies, conducting assessments, and working with cross-functional teams. CookUnity delivers over 1 million meals per month and partners with Food Bank For New York City to combat food insecurity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM) are a plus
• 8+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on application security, network security, or security operations
• Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and technologies
• Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, etc
• Familiarity with cloud security, particularly in AWS and Google Cloud environments
• Proven experience in incident response and forensic investigations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, protocols, and procedures
• Lead the design and execution of security strategies to protect CookUnity's data, systems, and networks
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analysis
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, managing incident response processes
• Work closely with development, IT, and operations teams to integrate security best practices
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions
• Mentor and provide guidance to engineers across the company
• Collaborate with external security partners and vendors to enhance security posture

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the food or e-commerce industry is a plus but not required
