Summary
Join 3Pillar Global as a Lead UX Designer and lead a team of designers to achieve client goals. You will own the UX effort for client engagements, from planning and execution to design reviews. As a player-coach, you will guide and mentor your team while contributing to project success. Strong client interaction and communication skills are essential, along with a consultative approach to design. You will also contribute to the overall UX practice through activities like workshops or mentoring. This role requires a deep understanding of UX principles and experience in Agile environments.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience designing B2C and/or B2B applications in an Agile environment
- Well-versed in conducting or applying user research, mapping and visualizing current state experiences, identifying key opportunities, design thinking & brainstorming
- Ability to comfortably facilitate workshops (sketching, feature prioritization, card sorting, etc), and produce low-to-high fidelity wireframes by laying out research-informed information architecture
- Ability to build wireframes and prototypes for testing and final delivery to development teams or directly to clients
- Proficiency in Sketch App, Figma, Adobe Xd, Axure, or other design tools
- Ability to work closely with the product team, other designers, stakeholders, and users to dive deeply into user journeys to identify problems, re-frame into opportunities, and co-create highest value needs
- A portfolio that highlights strong experience designing across products, platforms and personas
- Ability to provide delegation, guidance, and coaching to a team of designers towards a common goal
- Exceptional storytelling capabilities; an ability to weave key insights and data into a compelling narrative
- Ability to advocate the value of Design, and inspire partners and teammates through elegant presentation and storytelling capabilities
- Ability to advocate for the user internally and externally while balancing business and technology constraints
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Possession of a strong sense of interaction and visual design principles
- Advanced English is required
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of designers towards achieving the client’s goals
- Assemble team members, provide vision, delegate goals, and align work products
- Own the UX effort for a client engagement
- Plan the UX effort, define tasks and sequence, set checkpoints, and lead design reviews with clients
- Serve as primary UX POC for other teams (Product, Engineering) on the engagement
- Be a player-coach to guarantee project success while helping team members grow
- Guide team members' work, set priorities, review and critique their designs
- Set and manage expectations with clients, identify key advocates (or detractors), and work with fellow team members to plan strategic actions
- Own much, perhaps most, of the communication between UX and client stakeholders
- Ensure that designs are aligned with clients’ business objectives
- Guide discussions, recommend alternative approaches while respecting clients’ expertise
- Bring your UX skills to the table; execute at least two of the three UX disciplines (user research, interaction design, and visual design)
- Function effectively as part of an integrated team (UX, Product Management, Development)
- Contribute to the UX Practice (e.g., leading training, writing articles, recording podcasts, mentoring)
